Yobe Govt Dismisses Claims of Terrorists Controlling Any LGA

The Yobe State Government has dismissed claims that any Local Government Area (LGA) in the state is under the control of terrorists, insisting that security has improved significantly across the state.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mohammed Goje, said no part of Yobe is occupied by terrorist groups, describing the restoration of peace and stability as one of the major achievements of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration since it assumed office in 2019.

Goje said communities that were once inaccessible because of insurgency have become largely accessible again, enabling residents to return to their daily activities.

He attributed the progress to sustained collaboration between the state government, the military, other security agencies, and local communities.

While acknowledging that isolated security incidents still occur, the SSG maintained that such attacks do not amount to territorial control, stressing that no LGA in Yobe State is under the occupation of terrorists.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening security and sustaining efforts aimed at protecting lives and property across the state. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
