No fewer than 60,000 members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, pledging their support for Governor Nasir Idris and the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The mass defection took place in Jega Local Government Area, where the former ADC members formally declared their allegiance to the APC during a reception attended by party leaders and supporters.
Governor Idris welcomed the defectors, assuring them of equal treatment and full integration into the APC. He thanked them for their confidence in his administration and pledged to continue delivering development projects across the state.
The defectors said their decision was influenced by the governor’s performance in office, expressing confidence in his leadership and reaffirming their commitment to supporting his administration and the APC in future elections.
