The Nigerian Navy has arrested two suspects and seized a truck loaded with sections of crude oil pipelines suspected to have been vandalised during an anti-crude oil theft operation in Imo State.

The operation was carried out by personnel of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) SOROH as part of ongoing efforts to curb crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and other forms of economic sabotage in the Niger Delta region.

According to the Navy, the suspects were intercepted while transporting the suspected vandalised pipeline materials.

The truck and the recovered items have been taken into custody, while investigations are underway to determine the origin of the pipelines and identify other individuals linked to the illegal activity.

The Navy reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the nation’s oil and gas infrastructure, stressing that operations against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism will continue across the region.

It also warned those involved in illegal activities targeting critical national assets to desist or face the full weight of the law. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
