APC Releases Names of 31 Bauchi Assembly Candidates for 2027 Polls

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the names of 31 candidates cleared to contest the Bauchi State House of Assembly elections ahead of the 2027 general polls.

The candidates emerged from the party’s primary elections conducted across various constituencies in the state on May 21.

Chairman of the APC Governorship and House of Assembly Primaries Committee in Bauchi State, retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, John Bassey Abang, announced the results on Saturday, describing the exercise as peaceful and successful across the affected constituencies.

According to the results released by the committee, several aspirants secured the party’s tickets after defeating their opponents in keenly contested primaries.

In Pali Constituency, Hon. Aminu Garba emerged victorious with 3,566 votes, defeating Mohammed Umar Faruq, Shayibu Abdullahi and Rashida.

Alhaji Ibrahim Garba Gwana won the Duguri/Gwana Constituency primary after polling 901 votes ahead of other contenders, while Haris Aliyu Hardo clinched the Bauchi Central Constituency ticket with 5,430 votes.

The committee also confirmed Abdulhamid Rufai as the APC candidate for Zungur/Galambi/Miri Constituency, while Hon. Bulus Iliya Buli secured the Bogoro Constituency ticket.

The APC said the successful conduct of the primaries reflects the party’s preparedness and unity ahead of the 2027 general elections in Bauchi State.
