A senior military officer has revealed how security agencies uncovered an alleged plot aimed at destabilising the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, leading to heightened surveillance and intelligence operations across key parts of the country.

According to the officer, intelligence reports gathered over several months exposed activities of individuals allegedly working to undermine the government through coordinated political and security disruptions. The officer said the plot was detected through joint efforts involving military intelligence and other security agencies.

The source disclosed that authorities have since intensified monitoring of suspicious movements and communications linked to the alleged conspiracy, while investigations are ongoing to identify all those involved.

The development comes amid growing political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with security agencies reiterating their commitment to protecting Nigeria’s democracy and constitutional order.

Officials, however, assured Nigerians that there is no immediate threat to national stability, stressing that necessary measures have been put in place to maintain peace and security across the country.
