Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on political actors to reduce reliance on court litigation in resolving internal party disputes, warning that persistent legal battles weaken party stability and slow democratic progress.
Speaking shortly after aligning with the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Obi expressed concern over what he described as recurring internal crises and prolonged court cases within political parties.
He noted that such disputes have continued to undermine cohesion and often lead to the exit of key stakeholders from political platforms, including himself.
Obi appealed for greater commitment to internal dialogue and conflict resolution mechanisms, stressing that political development would be stronger if parties prioritise unity over litigation.
