Operation FANSAN YAMMA Disrupts Criminal Activities, Arrests Eight Suspects

Troops of Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA have recorded fresh successes against terrorists and bandits in Zamfara State.
During a fighting patrol in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area on 5 June 2026, troops engaged terrorists at Birnin Tsaba village, neutralizing one suspect and recovering seven motorcycles.
On 6 June, troops repelled a terrorist attack at Anguwar Sarkin Musulmi village in Kaura Namoda LGA, forcing the attackers to flee. The terrorists reportedly stole valuables from residents before the troops arrived.
The same day, security forces responded to an ambush on commuters along the Kaura Namoda–Zurmi Road. Troops secured the area, evacuated injured victims for treatment, and launched efforts to track the attackers and rescue abducted passengers.
Meanwhile, troops arrested eight suspected bandits during a patrol in Tudun Wada, Maru LGA. Recovered items included motorcycles, communication equipment, mobile phones, power banks, and military-style uniforms. A structure linked to the suspects was also destroyed.
In a related operation, troops arrested a suspected recipient of intercepted ammunition in Tupa village, Shinkafi LGA, following intelligence-led investigations.
