President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has criticised opposition leaders over the state of electricity following past privatization efforts, accusing them of failing to deliver results for Nigerians. He said the country is still grappling with the consequences of policies that did not improve power supply.

Speaking on the issue, the President stated that previous leaders handed over a system that has continued to underperform, leaving many Nigerians in darkness. He emphasised that his administration is working to reverse the situation and build a more reliable and efficient power sector.

Tinubu noted that his government remains committed to creating a nation defined by progress, hope, and opportunities for future generations. He stressed the importance of long-term reforms aimed at ensuring sustainable development and improved living standards.

He also urged Nigerians to disregard criticisms from the opposition, alleging that some of them do not practice the democratic values they advocate. The President maintained that his administration is focused on delivering meaningful change despite ongoing challenges.
