President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Murtala Sule Garo on his appointment as the Deputy Governor of Kano State, following his swearing-in by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Garo’s emergence comes after the resignation of Aminu Abdulsalam, which created a vacancy in the state government. The change is linked to recent political developments within Kano.
In a statement, the President described Garo as a seasoned politician with significant experience at the grassroots and state levels. He highlighted Garo’s previous service as Chairman of Kabo Local Government and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, as well as his role as a deputy governorship candidate in the 2023 election.
Tinubu also commended the governor for the appointment, noting that it is a step toward strengthening unity within the ruling party in the state.
He urged political stakeholders to support the administration and called on the new deputy governor to work closely with the governor in delivering good governance and accelerating development across Kano State.
The President wished Garo success in his new position.
