Four workers tragically lost their lives during a routine maintenance operation at the Gubi Dam Water Treatment Plant in Bauchi State, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The incident occurred around 5:00 pm on Saturday while they were conducting a sludge cleaning exercise in one of the plant’s tunnels.
According to a statement by the Bauchi State Police Command, the operation began at noon. Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, explained:
“The sludge cleaning operation commenced around 12:00 hours.
