In a landmark move to address Nigeria’s growing student housing deficit, Advent Integrated Services Limited has entered into a 25-year Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement with the Nasarawa State Government, the Nasarawa Investment and Development Agency (NASIDA), and Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK). The deal will pave the way for the construction of a state-of-the-art, 4,000-bed purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) facility on NSUK’s main campus.
The phased project will start with the construction of 1,152 bedspaces, with plans to expand the accommodation capacity in subsequent phases, eventually reaching 4,000 beds. The development is expected to provide modern, secure, and well-equipped living spaces designed to enhance the overall student experience while supporting the university’s academic mission.
At the signing ceremony, Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, expressed his administration’s strong commitment to improving educational infrastructure. He stressed that this project aligns with the state’s broader goals of enhancing learning environments and supporting student welfare across Nasarawa. “We are committed to delivering improved educational infrastructure, and this partnership is a significant step in that direction,” said Governor Sule.
Professor Sa’adatu Hassan, the Vice-Chancellor of NSUK, welcomed the development, highlighting its crucial role in the university’s growth. “This is a major milestone for NSUK, alongside our recent campus upgrades, such as the addition of a new 4.5 km road network and the completion of a new Senate building,” she said.
Goke Dokun, Managing Director of Advent Integrated Services, expressed appreciation for the collaboration, emphasizing the project’s potential to transform Nigeria’s student housing sector. “This is not just about infrastructure; it’s about empowering students, boosting the local economy, and fostering sustainable development. With this project, we aim to make a long-lasting impact,” said Dokun. He also noted that the company’s portfolio now includes 7,246 bedspaces across Nigeria.
This partnership marks a significant step forward in the transformation of student accommodation in Nigeria, underscoring the growing role of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in providing high-quality educational infrastructure. The project aims to set a new benchmark for student housing, ensuring that students have access to safe, comfortable, and conducive living environments for their academic pursuits.
