
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated all winners of the by-elections held on Saturday, August 16, across 16 constituencies in 12 states, praising the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting what he described as largely hitch-free and peaceful polls.
According to INEC’s declared results, the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victory in 12 constituencies, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) won two, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) won one each. The President also extended special congratulations to APC’s new National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, describing the outcome as an emphatic first victory under his leadership.
Tinubu commended APC governors, leaders, and faithful for their unity and commitment, assuring Nigerians that his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda remains focused on delivering a more secure and prosperous nation. He further applauded all political parties and candidates for their participation, urging them to uphold sportsmanship, fairness, and magnanimity as vital pillars of Nigeria’s democracy.
