The Office of the National Security Adviser ONSA has stressed the need for greater inter agency collaboration in protecting Nigeria’s critical national assets and infrastructure. This was the key outcome of a state level security coordination meeting held in Maiduguri, Borno State, which brought together military and paramilitary organizations.

The meeting highlighted that the protection of essential infrastructure such as energy facilities, communication networks, transportation systems, and security installations is central to both national security and economic stability. Stakeholders resolved to enhance intelligence sharing, strengthen joint operations, and develop practical frameworks for rapid response to emerging threats.

The policy direction also emphasizes the importance of community engagement and cooperation beyond the security sector. By consolidating efforts across agencies and involving local stakeholders, the initiative aims to build a sustainable system that ensures the safety of vital assets, prevents disruptions, and supports national growth and stability.
