Tantalizers Seals U.S. Partnership, Moves Into Multimillion-Dollar Seafood Export Business

Tantalizers Plc has entered the seafood export market after acquiring 10 trawlers and signing a strategic partnership with a U.S.-based marine consortium led by industry expert Charles Quinn.

The deal part of the company’s expansion into Nigeria’s blue economy focuses on developing capacity to harvest and export prawns, shrimps, scallops, and other seafood to premium global markets, including the United States.

Backed by a US$25 million financing facility, Tantalizers plans to establish a modern seafood processing and cold-chain facility in Nigeria to meet international standards and support large-scale exports. The trawlers, currently in Honduras and New Bedford, USA, are expected to arrive in Nigeria by May 2025 and will operate under a new subsidiary, Tantalizers Fisheries Limited.

The company says the move positions it to tap into the multi-trillion-dollar global blue economy and diversify its revenue beyond quick-service restaurants. While no specific multi-year export contract has been announced, the partnership gives Tantalizers access to experienced U.S. operators and established distribution channels.
