The Federal Ministry of Education has dismissed reports that all Federal Unity Colleges will close starting 24 November 2025. In a statement, the Ministry said the circulating message is “false, misleading” and did not come from any part of the government, including security agencies.

While a circular did direct the temporary closure of 41 Unity Colleges, signed by the Ministry’s Director of Senior Secondary Education, the Ministry says this only applies to the listed schools and is not a nationwide shutdown.

The move follows a surge in security threats, including school kidnappings in parts of the country.
