The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has ordered all public senior secondary schools in Abuja to shut down on or before Friday, November 28, due to rising security concerns within the nation’s capital.
In a memo issued on Tuesday by Aishatu Sani Alhassan, Director of School Services at the FCT Secondary Education Board, school principals and heads of institutions were instructed to halt academic activities immediately. The directive further mandated that students be dismissed in an orderly and safe manner to ensure their protection.
The shutdown comes amid heightened alerts, with authorities expected to announce additional measures to safeguard schools and communities across the FCT in the coming days.
