The Federal High Court in Abuja has appointed Joseph Abiolu, FCA, as liquidator for Dantata & Sawoe Construction Company after the firm failed to pay $1.4 million owed to Zutari Consulting for work on the Dangote Fertilizer Plant in Lekki.

The debt dates back to 2015 and was confirmed by an ICC arbitration ruling in Zutari’s favor. Despite partial payment offers, Dantata & Sawoe did not settle the balance, prompting the court to authorize the winding-up process under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA 2020).

The court has scheduled the liquidator’s report for February 18, 2026. The ruling underscores Nigeria’s judiciary enforcing payment obligations in large-scale construction projects. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
