Presidential Aide Commends NIMC DG’s Transformation Drive, Seeks Collaboration for Digital Innovation

A presidential aide has commended the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, for her ongoing transformation of the Commission, describing it as a significant step toward strengthening Nigeria’s digital identity ecosystem.

The aide, Mr. Abiodun Yinusa, who led a delegation from Softline Technologies and Services AB of Sweden on a courtesy visit to NIMC headquarters, praised the reforms implemented under the DG’s leadership, noting improvements in technology deployment, operational efficiency, and service delivery.

He said the transformation agenda has repositioned NIMC to align with global best practices in identity management and expressed interest in strategic collaboration to drive digital innovation, expand identity services, and enhance data systems.

Responding, Engr. Coker-Odusote reaffirmed NIMC’s commitment to partnerships with credible local and international technology firms, stressing that collaboration is key to deepening digital identity coverage, improving internal processes, and supporting Nigeria’s broader digital economy goals.

She added that NIMC remains focused on delivering a secure, inclusive, and efficient national identity system that meets the needs of citizens and residents while supporting national development.
