The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointments of two commissioners to the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), nominated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The confirmations, recommended by the Senate Committee on Power, include Aisha Mahmud Kanti Bello, who has been reappointed, and Animashaun Fouad Olayinka, appointed to a new position.

With their confirmation, the commissioners are expected to contribute to the regulation and development of Nigeria’s electricity sector, ensuring improved service delivery, sector stability, and investor confidence.
