Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday conducted searches at the residences and offices of a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mallam Abubakar Malami, SAN.

The searches were carried out as part of an ongoing investigation by the anti-graft agency. Details of items recovered or the specific nature of the probe were not immediately disclosed by the EFCC.

Mallam Malami served as Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari. The EFCC has yet to issue an official statement on the development.
