Stakeholders from Plateau State have pledged to embark on community outreach campaigns aimed at promoting unity, peace, and social cohesion following a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja.
Speaking after the engagement, the stakeholders said they had agreed to move across communities to spread messages of togetherness and reconciliation, while actively involving religious leaders and traditional rulers in the peacebuilding process.
They stressed the need to collectively address hatred, the weaponisation of religion, and divisions within society, noting that such efforts were necessary to harness the state’s human and material resources for development.
According to them, Plateau State has the potential to serve as a major centre of growth and development in Nigeria if unity and cooperation are strengthened across all communities.
