Binani Dumps ADC, Joins NDC Ahead of Adamawa Governorship Race

Senator Aisha Binani, the 2023 All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Adamawa State, has officially left the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and joined the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to pursue her governorship ambition.

Her departure is reportedly linked to internal disputes within the ADC, where her faction was said to have been sidelined by a group led by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, who is allegedly backing former Governor Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow for the party’s governorship ticket.

It was also gathered that several reconciliation efforts led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar failed to resolve the crisis, as agreements reached in earlier meetings were allegedly not implemented by the rival faction.

Binani is now expected to secure the NDC governorship ticket, setting up a fresh contest against the APC and ADC in the upcoming Adamawa State governorship election.
