The Lagos State Police Command has arrested members of a suspected trafficking network allegedly involved in the movement of military camouflage uniforms alongside hard drugs within the state.
Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives intercepted a commercial truck along the Lekki–Epe corridor during a stop-and-search operation. The vehicle was found to be conveying sacks of camouflage uniforms mixed with cartons of suspected illicit substances.
Authorities confirmed that four suspects were arrested at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate that the consignment was being transported from Lagos to the South-East region of the country.
Security officials described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal supply chains involving illegal drugs and restricted security-related materials. Investigations are currently ongoing to identify other members of the network and trace the source of the shipment.
The police also warned against the illegal circulation of military-pattern uniforms, noting that they can be used by criminal elements for impersonation and other unlawful activities.
The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
