The Federal Government has announced that 63 out of the 69 ambassadors-designate and high commissioners appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have been cleared by their host countries, with only six nominees still awaiting approval.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomatic approval process has advanced significantly, enabling the deployment of most of Nigeria’s newly appointed envoys to their respective countries.
The ministry disclosed that several ambassadors-designate have already received their letters of credence and commenced preparations for their assignments, while others have reported to their duty stations.
Officials expressed optimism that the remaining six nominees would soon secure the necessary clearances, completing the process for all ambassadorial appointments.
The development is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic representation and engagement with countries around the world, while enhancing the country’s foreign policy objectives and international relations.
