President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja on Saturday, May 2, on a diplomatic tour covering France, Kenya, and Rwanda.

The President will begin his journey in France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya, where he will participate in the Africa-France Summit slated for May 11 and 12.

The high-level meeting, jointly chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, will centre on key continental priorities such as energy transition, green industrialisation, digital innovation, climate action, and reforms in global financial systems.

President Tinubu’s attendance is expected to reinforce Nigeria’s drive to deepen strategic cooperation with African nations and France, particularly in areas of development and economic growth.

Under the theme “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” the summit will convene African and French leaders to examine pressing development challenges, including infrastructure expansion, youth empowerment, economic diversification, climate resilience, technological advancement, and peace initiatives.

After the Kenya engagement, President Tinubu will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum holding from May 14 to 15.

The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” will bring together more than 2,000 chief executives, investors, and policymakers to explore pathways for accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through stronger regional integration and increased investment flows. The event is organised in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

During both international engagements, President Tinubu is expected to present Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms aimed at improving investor confidence and positioning the country as a leading investment destination. He will also engage in a series of high-level bilateral meetings with global and African business leaders.

The President will be accompanied by selected ministers and senior government officials, and is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding his engagements in Rwanda.
