The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned popular social media influencer and self-styled relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, widely known as Blessing CEO, before Justice D.I. Dipeolu of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, over an alleged N36 million fraud.
The EFCC alleged that she fraudulently obtained the sum of N36 million from Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye under the false pretence of securing the lease of a six-bedroom duplex in Lekki, Lagos.
According to the commission, the alleged transaction took place between July 14 and July 17, 2024.
She was arraigned on charges bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and related offences.
Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read in court.
Following her plea, the prosecution asked the court for a trial date and also urged that she be remanded pending the determination of the case.
Her counsel, however, applied for bail on liberal terms.
Justice D.I. Dipeolu adjourned the matter for hearing and ruling on the bail application.
