PDP Begins Screening of Presidential, Governorship Aspirants Ahead of Elections

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commenced the screening of aspirants seeking to contest under the party’s platform ahead of forthcoming elections, with one presidential aspirant and two governorship aspirants appearing before the screening committee.

The exercise, conducted by the party’s designated panel, forms part of the PDP’s internal process aimed at assessing the qualifications, credentials, and preparedness of aspirants before the conduct of primary elections.

Party officials described the screening process as peaceful, transparent, and in line with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines, noting that the aspirants presented relevant documents and engaged members of the committee on issues relating to governance, leadership, and party loyalty.

The PDP leadership reaffirmed its commitment to credible and fair primaries, assuring members and supporters that all aspirants would be given equal opportunities throughout the process.

The party also urged its members to remain united and focused as preparations continue for upcoming elections across the country.
