The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced that major infrastructure projects across Abuja are fully completed and ready for commissioning by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Wike disclosed this after inspecting several ongoing projects in the nation’s capital, expressing satisfaction with the quality and pace of work delivered by contractors. He said the projects have reached 100 percent completion and are set for inauguration as part of activities marking President Tinubu’s third year in office.
According to the minister, the projects include key road infrastructure and urban renewal works aimed at improving connectivity within the city centre and satellite towns. Among them are major expressway corridors, interchange developments, and the aesthetic redesign of the Abuja City Gate.
He noted that the commissioning exercise would commence soon, with a structured schedule expected to run over several weeks, subject to presidential approval.
Wike further stated that the infrastructure projects reflect the administration’s commitment to improving transportation, reducing travel time, and expanding development to underserved communities within the FCT.
He added that residents of Abuja would soon begin to experience the benefits of the completed projects, describing them as part of efforts to modernise the capital city.
The commissioning programme is expected to be carried out in phases, with President Tinubu and other senior officials scheduled to inaugurate different projects across the territory.
