Adamawa Police Arrest Suspected Armed Robbery Gang Members in Yola

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested suspected members of an armed robbery gang linked to separate criminal incidents in Yola North Local Government Area.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the arrests followed intelligence-led operations carried out by officers attached to the Doubeli Divisional Police Headquarters.

Investigations revealed that one of the suspects, identified as 22-year-old Idris Auwal, allegedly participated in a burglary and robbery operation at Nassarawo Borehole, where cash, documents, and other valuables were reportedly stolen.

In a separate operation, police also arrested another suspected gang member accused of attacking and robbing a resident along the Doubeli Bypass. The suspect allegedly dispossessed the victim of a mobile phone and cash while inflicting injuries during the incident. The victim was later treated and discharged after receiving medical attention.

Police recovered items believed to be connected to the crimes, including a knife, a cutlass, and a stolen mobile phone. Authorities said investigations are ongoing to apprehend other suspects who remain at large and to determine the full scope of the gang’s activities.
