The Office of the Tax Ombud has launched a new website, digital Call Centre Portal and integrated Case Management System aimed at improving taxpayer engagement and accelerating the resolution of complaints.

The initiative is part of efforts to modernise the institution’s operations, enhance transparency and provide taxpayers with a more accessible and efficient platform for lodging and tracking grievances.

Speaking at the launch, the Tax Ombud and Chief Executive of the Office of the Tax Ombud, Dr. John Nwabueze, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to reforming Nigeria’s tax system and promoting fairness, inclusiveness, transparency and accountability.

Dr. Nwabueze described the establishment of the Office of the Tax Ombud as one of the key institutional reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the office was created to strengthen taxpayer protection, accountability and public confidence in the nation’s tax administration framework.

According to him, the Office of the Tax Ombud serves as an independent and impartial institution that provides taxpayers with accessible, timely and cost-effective mechanisms for addressing complaints, resolving disputes and encouraging voluntary tax compliance.

He added that the newly launched digital platforms would enhance service delivery and improve interactions between taxpayers and relevant authorities, while supporting broader efforts to build a more transparent and efficient tax system in Nigeria.
