The Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has recorded significant gains in its ongoing counterterrorism operations across Nigeria’s North-East, including the foiling of a terrorist infiltration attempt, disruption of logistics networks, and the arrest of suspected collaborators.

According to a statement from the Theatre Command, troops responded swiftly on 9 June 2026 to intelligence reports of terrorists advancing toward the North East Theatre Training School in Buni Yadi, Borno State. The troops engaged the attackers with coordinated firepower, successfully neutralising the threat and preventing any breach of the facility.

Following the operation, troops recovered two terrorist corpses and one motorcycle from the scene, confirming the outcome of the engagement.

In separate intelligence-driven operations aimed at disrupting terrorist support structures, troops of the 25 Brigade Garrison, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), arrested two suspected logistics suppliers, Mallam Bako Ibrahim and Abu Aji, along the Sierra 4 axis in Damboa.

Similarly, troops of the 162 Amphibious Battalion, working with the CJTF along the Mandaragirau–Sabon Gari road, apprehended another suspect, Musa Idi.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects were involved in supplying logistics materials to terrorist elements operating within Damboa Local Government Area.

Items recovered from the suspects include 19 wristwatches, a large mat, a transistor radio, two cartons of agro-allied chemicals, and other materials believed to be intended for operational use by insurgent groups.

In a related development, combined troops of Sector 2 arrested a 23-year-old suspect, Adams Shittima, in Damboa town at about 5:58 a.m. on 9 June 2026. He was reportedly intercepted while attempting to procure farm implements and mosquito nets for terrorist groups. During preliminary interrogation, he allegedly confessed to providing logistics and intelligence support to insurgents in the area.

The Theatre Command stated that sustained military pressure and intelligence-led operations continue to weaken terrorist networks and restrict their freedom of action across the region.
It added that these operational successes underscore Operation HADIN KAI’s commitment to dismantling terrorist support structures, enhancing security, and creating conditions for lasting peace and socio-economic recovery in the North-East.

Military authorities commended the troops for their professionalism, vigilance, and resilience in ongoing counterinsurgency operations. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
