The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has activated a dedicated 24-hour emergency reporting channel to address security threats and emergencies affecting schools across the country.

The initiative, managed by the Schools Protection Squad (SPS) Command and Control Centre at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, is aimed at enhancing the safety and security of students, teachers and educational institutions nationwide.

According to the Police, the emergency channel is available for reporting incidents including attacks on schools, attacks on student hostels on or off campus, bullying, molestation, harassment, student kidnapping or abduction, suspicious movements around school environments, and suspicious individuals observed on routes to and from school.

The NPF urged parents, students, teachers, school administrators, community leaders and members of the public to promptly report any potential threats or security concerns within school communities.

The Schools Protection Squad can be reached via phone call or WhatsApp on 0807 735 7777. The service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to receive emergency reports and respond to distress calls.

In addition to the hotline, the SPS is also accessible through the Police VGS mobile application.

The Police emphasised that ensuring the safety of schools is a shared responsibility and encouraged citizens to remain vigilant.
“If you see something, say something,” the Force stated.

For school-related emergencies, members of the public are advised to call or send a WhatsApp message to the Schools Protection Squad on 0807 735 7777. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
