The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has described the Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) as a strategic national asset whose achievements align with the Federal Government’s objectives of enhancing energy security, attracting investment, and driving industrial growth.

Speaking during a meeting with the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NLNG, Engineer Adeleye Falade, in Abuja, the minister emphasized the importance of stronger collaboration between both institutions to advance Nigeria’s economic diplomacy and promote energy-sector investments. She noted that NLNG’s success story continues to project Nigeria positively on the global stage.

Falade congratulated the minister on her appointment and reaffirmed NLNG’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s economic development agenda. He described the company as an ambassador of Nigeria’s economic potential and highlighted the ongoing Train 7 project, which is expected to increase the company’s LNG production capacity from 22 million to 30 million tonnes annually, while creating additional jobs and boosting government revenue.

Odumegwu-Ojukwu welcomed the proposed partnership, stressing the need to leverage Nigeria’s energy resources to attract strategic investments and strengthen the country’s competitiveness. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation, promoting Nigeria as a leading investment destination in Africa, and advancing sustainable economic growth.

NLNG remains one of Nigeria’s largest corporate contributors to the economy, supporting thousands of jobs and generating significant value through taxes, dividends, and local content development initiatives.
