


The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, HRH Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, ahead of a mega political rally in Ekiti State.
During the visit, the Vice President expressed appreciation to the royal father, describing him as more than a custodian of tradition and culture. He noted that the monarch remains a symbol of the heritage, values, and identity of the Ekiti people.
Shettima also met with members of the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers Council at the Government House, where he conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening and supporting traditional institutions across the country.
The Vice President commended the critical role played by traditional rulers in promoting peace, stability, and grassroots development, assuring them of the Federal Government’s continued collaboration in advancing national development objectives.
He further urged the monarchs to continue supporting the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, stressing the importance of unity and cooperation in driving sustainable development across Ekiti State.
Shettima noted that Ekiti State has benefited significantly from federal appointments under the Tinubu administration, describing the development as a reflection of the President’s commitment to inclusiveness and equitable representation.
The Vice President’s engagements formed part of activities preceding the mega rally held in support of Governor Oyebanji’s administration and the continued partnership between the state and the Federal Government.
