The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has unveiled Mrs. Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun as the running mate to its 2027 governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

The announcement was made during the party’s Strategic Caucus Meeting in Abeokuta, where party leaders endorsed her nomination ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Governor Dapo Abiodun said Adegunwa-Balogun emerged after extensive consultations with stakeholders across the state. He noted that the deputy governorship position was zoned to Ogun East Senatorial District as part of efforts to ensure equity and inclusiveness within the party.

Adegunwa-Balogun, a chartered accountant and private sector executive, was selected from a pool of qualified aspirants. Senator Adeola described her as an experienced professional with strong leadership and management credentials, expressing confidence in her ability to contribute to the development of Ogun State.

In her acceptance speech, Adegunwa-Balogun thanked the party leadership for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to work closely with Senator Adeola to advance the state’s development agenda ahead of the 2027 election.
