The Ogun State Government has placed the state on heightened security alert following concerns over increasing insecurity across parts of the country.

Governor Dapo Abiodun announced the measure during a strategic meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta, where he said the administration is taking proactive steps to prevent any spillover of criminal activities into the state.

He described the growing incidents of terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry in other regions as worrisome, stressing that Ogun State would not wait for threats to escalate before responding.

According to him, the government is strengthening its security architecture through the deployment of modern, technology-driven surveillance systems, improved intelligence gathering, and closer collaboration with security agencies.

The governor also said special attention is being given to schools and other vulnerable locations, with increased monitoring and security presence aimed at protecting students and residents.

Abiodun reassured citizens that Ogun remains safe and that government and security agencies are fully alert, urging residents to remain calm and vigilant while supporting ongoing security efforts. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
