Troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, have rescued 47 persons, mostly women and children, who were held captive by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Kangarwa village, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.

The rescue operation followed sustained military offensives against terrorist enclaves in the Lake Chad region.

According to military authorities, the successful operation resulted from relentless ground and air assaults that forced the terrorists to abandon their positions. The intensified pressure created an opportunity for the captives to regain their freedom after enduring prolonged periods in captivity.

A statement issued by the Headquarters of Operation Hadin Kai said the rescue underscores the military’s continued commitment to protecting civilians and degrading the operational capabilities of terrorist groups across the North-East.

The rescued individuals have been moved to a secure location where they are receiving medical care, psychosocial support, and other humanitarian assistance. Relevant agencies are also working to facilitate their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Military authorities reaffirmed their determination to sustain ongoing operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, rescuing more abducted civilians, and restoring peace and stability to communities affected by insurgency in the region. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
