

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Saturday led a host of political leaders and dignitaries to the wedding fatiha of three children and a cousin of Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, in Maiduguri.
The ceremony drew a large gathering of high-profile personalities from across the country. Among those who accompanied the Vice President were the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, state governors, members of the National Assembly, serving ministers, as well as former governors and their deputies.
At the event, Senator Shettima served as Waliyi for Aisha Babagana Zulum, formally giving her in marriage to Mohammed Idi Barde, son of the Deputy Governor of Yobe State.
Other family members who got married at the ceremony include Umar Babagana Zulum, who married Fatima Azzaki Jidda; Mamman Babagana Zulum, who married Yagana Mustapha Busuguma; and Abba Abubakar Umara, who wed Aisha Ibrahim Musa.
In his remarks, the Vice President prayed for Allah’s guidance and blessings upon the newly wedded couples. He also advised them to uphold mutual respect and exercise patience as they begin their marital journey.
Dignitaries present at the occasion included former Vice President Babagana Kingibe, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Deputy Senate President Jibril Barau.
Also in attendance were governors from Kaduna, Gombe, Zamfara, Kebbi, Kano, Nasarawa, Sokoto, and Katsina states.
Members of the Federal Executive Council present included ministers overseeing Agriculture, Budget and Economic Planning, Housing and Urban Development, Health and Social Welfare, Education, as well as the Minister of State for Regional Development.
Former Borno State Governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and several other prominent political figures were also present at the event.
