Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, for Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election taking place across the state.
The Vice President is expected to join other party stakeholders, including the Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum, and APC officials in the state, for the exercise aimed at selecting the party’s governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Party sources say the primary is part of the APC’s nationwide timetable for selecting candidates for various elective positions, with internal party procedures being conducted simultaneously across states.
