The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued Certificates of Return to winners of the recently concluded bye-elections held across several constituencies in Nigeria, formally confirming them as elected representatives.

The presentation followed the conclusion of the June 20, 2026 bye-elections conducted to fill vacant seats in the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly across selected states, including Ondo, Rivers, Nasarawa, Enugu, Kano, and Kebbi.

With the issuance of the certificates, the elected candidates have been officially recognized as winners of their respective constituencies. The certificates serve as the final administrative step required for them to be sworn into office by the relevant legislative bodies.

INEC stated that the exercise was conducted in line with constitutional provisions and the Electoral Act, which empower the commission to conduct elections and formally declare and authenticate winners after collation and announcement of results.
