First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Commissions National Headquarters of Nigerian Red Cross Society

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has inaugurated the National Headquarters of the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) in Abuja, describing the facility as a major milestone in strengthening humanitarian service delivery across the country.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Senator Tinubu commended the Nigerian Red Cross Society for its longstanding commitment to serving humanity without discrimination and providing support to vulnerable communities.

She praised the organization’s dedication to alleviating human suffering, responding to emergencies, assisting victims of disasters and conflicts, and promoting health and well-being across Nigeria.

According to the First Lady, the new headquarters will enhance the Society’s ability to coordinate humanitarian operations, improve efficiency, and expand its impact nationwide.

Senator Tinubu noted that the work of the Red Cross extends beyond Nigeria’s borders, emphasizing its role in disaster response, first aid services, humanitarian assistance, and community support initiatives.

The First Lady, who was recently decorated as the Grand Matron of the Society, also commended the leadership, staff, partners, and volunteers of the Nigerian Red Cross Society for their dedication and sacrifice in serving communities in need.

As part of the event, she toured the facility, including its Incident Room, where she was briefed on the operations of the fully digitized coordination and response system.

In their remarks, President of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga, representatives of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and other partners praised the Federal Government’s efforts in addressing humanitarian challenges.

They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting humanitarian initiatives and improving assistance for victims of emergencies and crises across the country.
