The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Election Campaign Council for Ekiti State, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, on Tuesday night met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, alongside Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
Bamidele said the meeting was aimed at briefing the President on the council’s level of preparedness and its ongoing workplan ahead of the official kick-off of the campaign in the coming days.
He reiterated the council’s commitment to delivering an overwhelming victory for Governor Oyebanji in the Ekiti governorship election scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, noting that the target is to win all 177 wards in the state with no fewer than 500,000 votes.
According to him, Oyebanji’s performance in office over the past three years would play a decisive role in securing victory, which he added would also strengthen the foundation for a more resounding outcome for President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
