
The Nigerian Army has confirmed the death of a soldier following a violent confrontation with suspected kidnappers in the Magbon-Etido area of Mowe, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to security sources, the gunmen invaded the community and attempted to abduct residents, prompting a swift response from troops deployed in the area. The ensuing gun battle left one soldier dead and another injured.
