The Nigerian Army has confirmed the death of a soldier following a violent confrontation with suspected kidnappers in the Magbon-Etido area of Mowe, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

According to security sources, the gunmen invaded the community and attempted to abduct residents, prompting a swift response from troops deployed in the area. The ensuing gun battle left one soldier dead and another injured.

The attackers reportedly succeeded in abducting several residents during the incident. However, the Army later confirmed that four of the hostages were killed, underscoring the tragic outcome of the attack.
