
Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, where he is expected to join residents and family members in observing the 2026 Islamic festival.
Shettima, who travelled from Abuja, is in his home state to participate in the Eid-el-Kabir holidays and mark the festive period with his people.
He extended his heartfelt greetings and prayers to Nigerians across the country celebrating the occasion, wishing them peace, unity, and blessings during the festive season.
Eid-el-Kabir, observed by Muslims worldwide, is a significant religious festival that symbolizes sacrifice, devotion, and obedience, and is marked through prayers, charity, and family gatherings.
The Vice President’s presence in Maiduguri is expected to add to the festive atmosphere in Borno State as celebrations continue across the region.
