The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, said the party’s membership strength far exceeds that of other major political parties in the country combined.
Yilwatda stated that the APC submitted a membership register containing 12.9 million registered members, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) submitted 2.4 million members, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) submitted 1.6 million, the Labour Party (LP) submitted 1.3 million, and the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) submitted 700,000 members.
According to him, the combined membership figures of the opposition parties still fall short of the APC’s total membership strength.
The APC chairman added that the outcome of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s performance during the party’s primaries was backed by verifiable data and reflected the party’s broad support base across the country.
